Anticipated results

The anticipated results of the project are:

  • identification of foods and macronutrients important in the development of ischemic heart disease (IHD)
  • specification of optimal substitutions of foods and macronutrients for IHD prevention
  • scientifically-founded, food-based dietary guidelines targeted at preventing IHD development in the general population
  • knowledge transfer from leading international partners to the Danish scientific society
  • PhD and postdoctoral fellows with knowledge of advanced, state-of-the-art, nutritional epidemiological research methodology
